Men's Basketball Adds Taylor as First in 2020 Recruiting Class
BUFFALO, NY - Bryant & Stratton Buffalo men's basketball head coach Damone Brown has announced Lonnie Taylor as the first member of the 2020 recruiting class. Taylor, the 6-foot-4 forward from Medina, NY is a former United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Honorable Mention All-American and comes to BSC Buffalo with two years of eligibility remaining.

Taylor, the 6-foot-4 forward from Medina, NY is a former United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Honorable Mention All-American and comes to BSC Buffalo with two years of eligibility remaining.
"We are very excited to have Lonnie join our program," Brown said. "He is a versatile forward that can do so much for us on both ends of the floor. We feel like he can come right in and provide frontcourt toughness that will help us ultimately reach our goal of winning a championship. I know Lonnie has the same goal in mind so I'm excited to be able to get to work with him on our squad."
Taylor played his first two years at Villa Maria College under Hall-of-Fame Coach Don Silveri. During his sophomore season in 2018-19, he helped lead the Vikings to a 25-4 record and earned Honorable Mention All-America honors. He was the team's third leading scorer, netting 12.5 points per game while also leading the team in rebounds, securing eight boards per game. He also shot 55.8 percent from the floor.
As a freshman, Taylor helped Villa achieve a 26-6 mark and a trip to the National Championship Game. He was again the team's third leading scorer, putting home 13.2 points per contest. He also was the team's leading rebounder, finishing the season corralling 9.3 per game. He shot 62 percent from the floor and had 35 blocks.
Taylor played his high school basketball at Medina High School where as a senior, he averaged a double-double with 15.8 points and 12 rebounds per game. He also had 40 steals and 35 blocks. He was a dual-sport athlete, playing both basketball and football.
