Brown Announces 2020 Men's Basketball Team Awards
BUFFALO, NY - On Wednesday, senior Jonathan Range was named the Bryant & Stratton Buffalo 2020 Male Athlete of the Year. On Friday, men's basketball head coach Damone Brown announced the team awards, headlined by junior Tyrell Mitchell who was named the team's Most Valuable Player for the second year in a row.

On Friday, men's basketball head coach Damone Brown announced the team awards, headlined by junior Tyrell Mitchell who was named the team's Most Valuable Player for the second year in a row.
The Bobcats won a program-record 19 games and earned the fifth seed in the Small College National Championship. They played a tremendously tough schedule, playing 18 road games while holding wins over high-level NAIA, USCAA and NJCAA teams.
MOST VALUABLE PLAYER - Tyrell Mitchell
Mitchell was the team's second leading scorer, netting 16.4 points per game while shooting 61.9 percent from the floor. He spent most of the season in the starting lineup but also proved to be a spark off the bench, coming off the pine in nine games. He averaged 4.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals. Mitchell was selected as a United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Second-Team All-American for the second straight year as well.
MOST IMPROVED PLAYER - Devin Redden
Redden joined the program this season as a walk-on and proved to be one of the most important players on the roster. He started 22 of 28 games and averaged 6.2 points and 3.9 rebounds. He scored a season-high 24 points in a January 14th win over Villa Maria. He scored in double-figures six different times.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR - Jabari Hibbert
Hibbert was one the most important and vital members of the Bobcats team this past season, serving as one of the team captains. He started 27 of 28 games and averaged 8.5 points and led the nation in assists (5.9). He was a wrecking ball defensively, finishing the season with 93 steals and also averaged 3.8 rebounds per game as a point guard. He had eight games with at least five steals and had a season high at Point Park on November 16th.
NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR - Mick Snowden
The sharp-shooting senior guard was a tremendous addition to the program after spending his first three seasons of his career at College of St. Joseph's. Snowden was one of the best shooters in the country, knocking down 44.2 percent of his triples. He averaged 12.7 points per game and shot 82.9 percent from the free throw line. He set a school record for made threes in a game, nailing 10 in a December 7th win at Five Towns College.
6TH MAN OF THE YEAR - Davon Ware
Freshman guard Davon Ware was constantly the first one off the bench for the Bobcats this season and often times finished the game on the floor in tight situations. He averaged 6.2 points per game and changed the game with his defense. He totaled 27 steals but was responsible for many more and even more missed shots and turnovers. He averaged 2.4 assists and scored a season-high 17 in a January 3rd contest at Florida National.
