Minor Named USCAA National Player of the Week
BUFFALO, NY - After a stellar weekend, Bryant & Stratton Buffalo junior guard Shamecca Minor has been named the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Women's Division I Athlete of the Week. The junior led BSC Buffalo to two road wins and lit up the scoreboard in the process.
BUFFALO, NY - After a stellar weekend, Bryant & Stratton Buffalo junior guard Shamecca Minor has been named the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Women's Division I Athlete of the Week. The junior led BSC Buffalo to two road wins and lit up the scoreboard in the process.
The junior started the weekend hitting a program-record nine threes in a 113-47 win over Five Towns College on Saturday. She scored a season-high 33 points and went 9-of-13 from three. She added three rebounds, two assists and a steal. In just 19 minutes, she was 12-of-16 from the floor. The following day in an 81-75 win over Berkeley College, Minor scored 21 points and hit five more threes. She added two assists, a block, a steal and a rebound. For the weekend, Minor averaged 27 points in just 23.5 minutes per game and shot 50 percent from three.
BSC Buffalo currently sits at 9-1 and is ranked atop the USCAA Women's Division I National Poll. Minor is the team's leading scorer, averaging 17.7 points on 40 percent shooting from three.
