Bobcats Announce Johnathan Snyder as Sports Information Director & Assistant Basketball Coach
BUFFALO, NY – As the Bryant & Stratton College Buffalo campus gets ready to begin its second season of athletics, the department has announced the addition of Johnathan Snyder to the staff. Snyder will serve as the College's sports information director and assistant men's basketball coach beginning in the 2019-20 season.
Snyder comes to BSC Buffalo with over 10 years of sports journalism and public relations experience, last serving as the sports information director and assistant basketball coach at Villa Maria College. Prior to Villa, Snyder owned and operated Western New York Big 4 Talk, the local college athletics website focused on the coverage of local college basketball. He also spent time as a staff writer for the West Seneca Bee, Orchard Park Bee, Hamburg Sun and Queen City Sports, while also having pieces featured in the USA Today Sports Weekly.
At BSC Buffalo, Snyder will be responsible for coverage and website management of all Bobcat teams. Snyder will write press releases, game stories and general news, and also manage all social media accounts and statistics. He will also control gameday management.
"I couldn't be more excited to get to work at Bryant & Stratton Buffalo," Snyder said. "I want to thank Dr. Marvel Ross-Jones and Coach Damone Brown for this opportunity. I'm looking forward to helping grow our program both on and off the playing fields. I feel this is a great spot to be and I can't wait to get to work!"
Snyder also brings nearly a decade of experience in coaching as well. From 2009-2014, he served as the team manager, statistician and play-by-play announcer at Daemen College. At Villa, Snyder served on the staff of Hall-of-Fame coach Don Silveri. There he was the video coordinator and scheduler, before being promoted to director of basketball operations. While serving in that role, Silveri promoted him once again, this time to the coaching staff as an assistant before the 2018-19 season. In his time at Villa, the Vikings recorded back-to-back 20-win seasons and three consecutive trips to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Tournament, finishing National Runners-Up in 2018.
While serving as an assistant on men's basketball Head Coach Damone Brown's staff, Snyder will assist in practice and game planning, on-court coaching and recruiting.
"I'm very excited to be back working with Johnathan," Brown said. "I think he will make a great addition to not only our men's basketball staff, but our entire program as a whole. This is a great time to be a Buffalo Bobcat and Johnathan will help tremendously with promoting our brand."
Snyder currently resides in West Seneca, NY with his wife Sarah and dog Stella.
