Hibbert's Big Day Not Enough in 89-86 Road Loss at BSC Syracuse

SYRACUSE, NY - A season-high in points and rebounds from senior Jabari Hibbert wasn't enough as the Bryant & Stratton Buffalo Bobcats dropped a heartbreaker on the road to Bryant & Stratton Syracuse 89-86 on Saturday afternoon.  Hibbert scored 18 of his 20 points in the second half and nearly helped Buffalo erase a 12-point deficit, but a deficit on the boards ultimately proved to be the difference.

With 1:52 left, Buffalo tied the game at 85 after a driving layup from Hibbert.  With 1:14 left, senior Mick Snowden hit one of two free throws to take a one-point lead.  A basket by Syracuse on the ensuing possession gave them a one-point lead before two more free throws increased the lead to three.  Buffalo did have a chance to tie the game at the buzzer but a three from Snowden hit the back rim and fell out.

WHAT THEY SAID

"This long road stretch has been tough for us but hopefully our guys can take the valuable lessons from them and get better," BSC Buffalo Head Coach Damone Brown said.  "Even though it is late in the season, we still have a ton of chances to get right and get back on track.  Our ultimate goal is to be ready to go when March rolls around.  We have some work to do to make sure we get there but I'm confident we can turn this around."

BSC Buffalo will play its final road regular season game of the season when they travel to New York City for the second time this season when they play Vaughn College on Thursday night.  The final four games of the regular season will be at home.
