BUFFALO, NY - After earning First Team All-America honors and helping her team achieve unprecedented success, women's basketball junior guard Alissa Johnson has been selected as the first ever Bryant & Stratton Buffalo Female Athlete of the year.
The Lancaster, PA native averaged 14.9 points per game and was selected as a United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) First Team All-American. She helped lead the Bobcats in their first season to a 22-7 record and a number-four seed in the National Tournament. She started all but one game for the Bobcats and was instrumental in the team's inaugural season which was highlighted by wins over NCAA, NAIA and USCAA competition.
"Alissa was one of our best and most consistent players this season and was a big reason why we had so much success," Head Coach Brittnee Perry said. "She was one of the hardest workers, never missed practice and left everything on the floor each time she stepped onto it. She is very deserving to be named the first ever Female Athlete of the Year for our program and I'm lucky to have the opportunity to coach her again next year and to see her grow even more."
