Kanhoye's 27 Not Enough in Loss to Buffalo State
BUFFALO, NY – Kat Kanhoye scored 27, but a sluggish second half proved costly as the Bryant & Stratton Buffalo Bobcats ran out of gas in a 79-65 loss to the Buffalo State Bengals on Thursday evening. It marks the Bobcats’ first loss of the season after they opened the season with four straight wins.
BUFFALO, NY – Kat Kanhoye scored 27, but a sluggish second half proved costly as the Bryant & Stratton Buffalo Bobcats ran out of gas in a 79-65 loss to the Buffalo State Bengals on Thursday evening. It marks the Bobcats' first loss of the season after they opened the season with four straight wins.
Kanhoye hit four threes and had six rebounds, but the Bobcats were outscored by 17 in the second half, losing what was a three-point halftime lead.
The game was full of runs and major swings as the Bengals raced out to a 31-18 lead after the first quarter thanks to an up-tempo pace and early fouls by B&SC. The Bobcats however turned that around to outscore the Bengals by 16 in the second session. Ultimately, the Bobcats shot just 31.7 percent from the floor and 20.8 percent from three in defeat, despite outrebounding the Bengals by 11.
Junior Nia Caver added 12 points and 10 rebounds, while fellow junior Oumy Gueye had 11 points and 18 rebounds.
